100 Degrees

This week we had a heat wave. Not a huge one for our state, but hot for sure, and even hotter without AC, which is how we've found ourselves since Sunday when the unit sputtered and died. Between two and six we've had some pretty toasty moments, reading about 90 degrees on the indoor thermostat. As I type this I am waiting for the repairman, who is already two hours late. Delightful. You can imagine how nice the heat has seemed to our tiny children, during muggy mornings, sweaty naps and hot night times. It's been hard enough on them that I opted out of immunizing them this week, for fear of chance of a little extra temperature per mini.
But what was, actually, delightful, is what we did to beat the heat. We went to fun faraway parks, and met friends, ate Popsicles, and played with a lot of water. Here are some pictures of some wading pool fun. You can see, in the last, that it was even irresistible even to Mr. J.
