SA soccer

In our new climate soccer lasts six weeks... the whole season wraps up by Oct 16th, which translates to Saturday. This year SA played with first and second graders. His team was interesting bc there were eight year olds and six year olds, but no seven year olds. Even though he was on the younger end, he still loved every minute of it, even last Saturday when the game was played in 30 degree weather and every child on the field was in long athletic pants and a jacket except for SA who was just wearing a long sleeved undershirt in addition to the uniform. Boy did we wise up. It was frigid! At least thats what J says... I was toasty and warm at home with my girls :) I think parents were colder than kids though. SA didn't register the cold. Must be all the running around. Anyway, there really is much less emphasis on soccer here. No end of season party, no trophy. SA did receive a little medal after a certain game, and he was pleased to add that to his sports collection. But really, I kind of wanted him to get a trophy like in previous years. The great news is that he's had tons of fun, and made new friends. You can see his happy/intense faces in the photos.
